Chamomile & Whiskey are returning to FSBC for A Night of Romance and Heartbreak. They will be joined by Devon Sproule and Matt Curreri and the Exfriends for a night of great performances. The music will start at 8:30 pm and guests are welcome to come early for a potluck with the bands at 7:3 pm. If you're feeling especially moved in the wake of Valentine's Day, consider dressing up as your favorite romantic icon. Tickets are $10/person in advance and $15/person at the door.
Join us in the garden terrace, starting one hour before kickoff. If you have a good chili recipe to show off, please bring it with you! We'll all vote for our favorite and the winner will receive a gift certificate to the cafe, valid this summer/when the champion needs a break from impressive home cooking. Beer and wine will be sold at the bar and the club will provide snacks. We will also show a kids movie on the big screen in the ballroom for any young non-sports fans.
FSBC will welcome the start of the swim season with a Spring Festival on Saturday, May 13. Starting at 1 pm, we'll have lots of fun activities including a giant slip n' slide, kids' kayak races in the big pool (thanks to Rivanna River Company!), and a grounds-wide treasure hunt.
At 5 pm, we'll kick off this year's Music By The Pool series with live music from We Are Star Children. This should be a great way to showcase the club before the season starts so please come and spread the word! The entry fee for non-members is $5 per person.
Help us improve our tennis courts and add basketball hoops! If you are good with a shovel, we need help transplanting beach grass, filling cracks with sand, and performing other related tasks. Please come help us restore this part of our grounds before summer! FSBC camp is coming, and tennis is on the schedule!
Please join us on Wednesday, February 15 at 4 pm to support Charlottesville's refugee community! Thanks to Charlottesville Families in Action, one hundred percent of the proceeds will be used to send refugee children to FSBC Summer Camp.
We'll have a DJ for the kids and a live band. Sticks Kebab Shop has generously donated food; Early Mountain Vineyards and Three Notch'd Brewery have provided drinks for our cash bar.
The suggested family donation is $30 to pay for your food and fun and send a kid to camp. Cash and checks (payable to International Neighbors with "summer camp" on the memo line) will be collected at the door.
Please RSVP on the event via email so that we can get an accurate count for food.
